Happy Birthday Dad

Today was my dad's birthday.  Grandma Woodhave took us all out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse.  Unfortunately, Jayson had to work so he missed out.  Happy Birthday Dad!  Hope you had a good one!  Thank you Grandma!

Play Group

Ward Wednesday

I don't think these four left the water the entire time!

Eaen still needs to grasp the concept of a slip n slide. : )

Once they put the slide in the pool, all the kids lined up for a turn!

I looked out the window and what did I see

Popcorn popping on the apricot tree!

As I was driving down the street today, Eaen started singing "Popcorn, popcorn, popcorn."  When I looked back, he was opening his hands like they do in Primary.  It was precious!  I turned off the radio and we sang Popcorn Popping all the way to my grandma's house.  He also goes around the house singing, "Hello, hello. Hello, hello. We welcome you today."  After that he gets "share" and the "Hey!" at the end.  It's good to see he is learning in nursery on Sundays!  : )

Mohawk

Several people have suggested I put Eaen's hair in a Mohawk.  I didn't think it would work because it is really thick and limp as can be.  This afternoon, we were looking for some entertainment.  I got out hair gel and some super hold hairspray and gave it our best attempt.......

Within a few minutes of taking pictures, it laid down again completely!  Oh well.

Walk

All happy to go on our weekly walk. : )

Cheese & Crackers

This afternoon, my dad gave Eaen some crackers and a slice of cheese to eat while we were waiting for everyone to get there for dinner.  Eaen broke the cheese into smaller pieces and set it on his crackers.  Not sure where he picked that one up! : )

Buckets

Today we watched Eaen's friend Maurie while his parents were at work.  Eaen was very excited for Maurie to come over!  I thought it would be fun to take the boys to the park for awhile this afternoon to get us all out of the house.  This morning, Eaen & I headed to the dollar store in search of some sand toys for the boys to play with since we only had one shovel.  Eaen found these cute Lightning McQueen buckets with shovels, so we got one for each of them.  Eaen was so excited to have the buckets, he wouldn't put them down.  He took them in every store we went to, held them in his car seat, I barely got him to let me put them on the table where he could see them while he ate lunch, he took them to play in his room, watch some tv, and even laid down with them in his bed.

Doing the Hot Dog Dance

Ready for a nap

When Maurie got here, Eaen ran and gave him his bucket.  Buckets in hand, both boys were ready for the park.

Once we got to the park, the boys had a blast!  They went down the slides, swung on the swings, and played in the dirt!

They both loved it when Eaen pushed Maurie in the swing!

He had to take the buckets down the slide!

They even picked up some older women while we were there.  When a train passed, Maurie waived good-bye to all of us and ran like he was going to catch the train!

It was a great day of playing and when we went out to run some errands, they both fell asleep quickly in the car!

Wearing Papa's Jersey's

Eaen has started wearing not only our shoes around the apartment, but he is also putting on Jayson's clothes.  The other day, he picked up a pair of Jayson's jeans and tried to get them on.  A couple of times this week, he has tried to put on a couple of Jayson's jerseys.  When  he put on a football jersey, he was running around with it over his head looking through the holes in the jersey.

Then he tried to put on his baseball jersey which was unbuttoned, so Eaen put his head through the arm hole.  It was priceless!

Too Smart

Eaen is too smart for his own good!  He has now figured out how to open the child locks on our cupboards.  He's not even 2 1/2!  Not so child proof anymore.  At least not Eaen proof anyway!  Fortunately, the only one he currently opens is the one on the cereal cupboard. : )  That boy loves his cereal!  Special K and Mini Wheats are his favorite!  Every time he finishes a bowl he says, "more cereal!"  Throughout the day, he will go to the cupboard, get out a box of cereal and set it on the counter, get the milk out of the fridge and set it on the counter next to the cereal, then if there is a bowl in the dishwasher, he will pull that out and set it on the counter as well and tell me "more cereal."

Cheesecake Factory Adventure

We went out to West Jordan today to do some shopping at the Nike Factory.  After we exchanged Jayson's Father's Day gift, we decided to get some lunch.  Jayson asked what food was out there that we don't have in Bountiful.  I thought about it for a minute and suggested the Cheesecake Factory.  Jayson has never been there, so he asked what kind of food they have.  I said with a big grin on my face, "They have everything!"  I know he didn't believe me until we arrived at the Cheesecake Factory and he began turning the pages of the novel they call a menu. : )  I assured him no matter what he chose to eat, it would be delicious!

We decided to splurge on lunch, so we ordered an appetizer, the full size meals instead of the lunch size portions, and we each had a cheesecake for dessert.  Jayson even got a smoothie to drink.

Chicken Madeira

Kids cheese pizza

Louisiana Chicken Pasta

Reese's PB Choc Cheesecake & Pina Colada Cheesecake
We brought plenty of food home with us for at least one more meal, if not 2!  When the waitress took our cheesecake to box it up, Eaen felt like he was getting robbed of the rest of it.  He held the spoon in her direction and said, "more bite?"  It was a great time!  Although with the prices, I'm glad a trip to the Cheesecake Factory is a rare occasion!
By the time we left, we all were stuffed and ready for a nap!
