Class Cancelled

My class tonight was cancelled because my professor was ill.  I'm not happy that he is sick, but I was secretly jumping inside that I gained an extra 4 hrs on the afternoon/evening including class and travel time!  I have a ton of work to do and I'm trying to get a little bit ahead on my homework.  The next month or so is going to be so crazy busy with work, school, Beta Alpha Psi, recruiting, everything around the house and Eaen!  It seems the only time I get a lot accomplished is late at night after Eaen is asleep.  But then I'm up until after midnight trying to get as much done as I can without completely crashing.  Eaen is not one to sleep in, so even on the days I don't have something in the morning, we're up early!  Hopefully I can keep it up through recruiting and make enough good impressions that I land a good job!   : )  I'm hoping to be able to get a lot done over the holiday weekend.  Since I didn't have class today, I don't have any classes until Tuesday.  Unfortunately, Jayson has to work crazy hours starting tomorrow through Monday for their Labor Day tent sale.  Plus, day care is closing early Friday and won't open again until Tuesday, so Eaen & I are going to have Maurie most of the weekend.  If I'm lucky, the boys will keep each other entertained and give me an opportunity to get the stuff done I need to.  Here's hoping!

Mastering the Bike

Eaen has had quite a bit more opportunity to ride his bike in the last 4 weeks since we moved in to our new place.  For awhile, we had it on the patio out back and I would let him go out there and play while I got things done in the house.  This week, a couple of the neighbor boys were riding their bikes in our shared driveway.  Eaen wanted his turn too.  We brought the bike out of the backyard and let him ride it around.  He is getting to be a pro!  When we got home from dinner tonight, he spent some time riding his bike again.  He gets better each time and he is starting to learn how to turn.  He had his first crash when he got going too fast and tried to turn.  But being the boy that he is, he jumped up and got right back on the bike!  I'm so proud of his accomplishment!

Day with Cooper

Eaen had the rare opportunity to have a friend come to our house.  This morning Lisa watched Eaen while I went to a meeting up on campus.  When I got done, we took Cooper home with us while Lisa got some time to run errands kid-free.  The boys had a great time together!

Best buds!

Missing mommy

Sometimes I don't realize how much Eaen really misses my attention.  Tonight after I put him to bed, I was doing some work while I waited for Jayson to get home from work.  A little while later, he came into my office with his blanket and pillow, laid on the floor behind my chair and was out within minutes.

IPad2

I think Eaen is enjoying and getting more use out of my IPad2 than I am!

Tired

Man this semester is going to be a killer!  I think if I can survive through October, I'll be okay.  The recruiting schedule is crazy busy!  It's year-end at work, which is always crazy!  And I have 4 classes?  What was I thinking?  This morning we got up early and went to visit my mom.  She had a hysterectomy yesterday and was in the hospital.  The surgery went well and all looks good.  Eaen was a bit nervous seeing his grandma in that setting.  After we left, I stopped at the mall on that end of town so I could go to Dillards and Nordstroms to find a suit for my interviews.  Fortunately, we found these great Karts Eaen wanted to ride in that you can rent.  It was the best $5 I've ever spent!  He was happy, I was able to try on clothes without having to worry about him running off, and I purchased my suit!

After we finished shopping, we met Lisa & Cooper for lunch.  The boys were acting silly and wanted their picture taking together over and over!

When we arrived home, we only had about 90 minutes before I had to drop Eaen off with grandpa and head to school.  Tuesday is my crazy day.  I have two classes and go from 3:30 pm to 9:10 pm with a short 20 minute break between classes.  It was a long day and night, but it will all be worth it soon!

First Day of Fall Semester

Today was the first day of Fall Semester.  I have four classes this semester, we have a busy semester with Beta Alpha Psi, and it's recruiting season.  I'm assisting Professor McDermott again this semester with his classes and grading.  Yesterday morning I received a call from him saying he was ill and asked if I could fill in today for his first two Accounting 2020 classes.  I agreed and prepared for the task at hand.  It wasn't too difficult as it was only the first day, so we didn't really get into any of the subject matter.  I did get a chance to make a pitch for Beta Alpha Psi and let the students know about opportunities for free tutoring as well as Meet the Firms and other resources available to them.  I felt like it went fairly well.  I had only a couple of hours home before it was time to go to my class and Eaen napped the entire time.  Class went well and I'm looking forward to the semester.  I feel it will be very beneficial information.  I also picked up my recruiting schedule from the Career Center.  There are 8 firms recruiting on campus for career opportunities I will be applying with.  Applications are due starting next week and the first round of interviews will be held Sept 12 - 27.  September is going to be a busy month, but hopefully it will all be worth it!

Homeward Bound

After a fun filled weekend, we hit the road home to return to the real world.  Before we left, Brad & Christina opened a few of their gifts.  They were very excited to see all of the Bed, Bath & Beyond wrapping.

Eaen enjoyed a doughnut before we hit the road!
On the road we went.  It didn't take long for Eaen and I to fall asleep in the backseat of the minivan.

We stopped in Laramie for lunch, then on the road again.  We made two more stops for Carson to eat and to get gas before we finally made it home.  Our travel time was within minutes of our travel time to Denver on Thursday.  We all had a good time, but we're happy to be home.

Once we got Titan and back home, Jayson read to Eaen to help him settle down and go to sleep.  I love it when Jayson reads to Eaen!

Brad & Christina Winn

Today was the big day.  We had Brad & Christina's wedding reception.  The first thing Eaen asked when he got up this morning was, "Where's Lexi?"  When I told him she was still sleeping he said, "Where's Papa?"  After we all got up and moving, Julie made a nice breakfast casserole.  Lexi & Eaen played for awhile and watched some Rango until it was time to go to the pool.

We all went to the pool around noon and let the kids swim.  They had a great time!

After a couple of hours of swimming, we ate some lunch and took Eaen back for a nap.

After a good long nap, we went back for the reception.
I'm glad we had the opportunity to join in their celebration!

After dinner, we let Eaen go play on the playground for a bit since he wasn't happy we wouldn't let him back in the pool.

Denver zoo

When Eaen & Lexi got up this morning, they were excited to see each other again and got right to playing!

They ate breakfast together and watched "Super Why" while we waited for Carson to get up, fed & ready to go.

We offered to keep Lexi for the day & we took the kids to the Denver zoo.  The kids had a great time.  The zoo was pretty big.  We were there two hours and didn't see everything.  I feel like the pictures from the zoo could have their own book I took so many.  It was hard to choose the best ones.

The kids played and played until bedtime.  Jayson made it in around 9:30 pm, but Eaen was fast asleep by the time he got to the house.
