Brunch & Moving

This morning we had our annual family brunch at Little America for Grandma Woodhave's birthday.  Grandpa Woodhave started the tradition when we were just toddlers and Grandma has carried it on since he's been gone.  It is so nice to get together with everyone and eat good food!  Eaen & Madi had a great time together!

After brunch, Jayson & I decided this may be our only chance to get moved with the hours he has been working and all that is going on the next few weeks.  We moved the rest of the day.  When we got to the house with our first load, Jake & Brooke came down with Carson to see the new place.

On our way back to the apartment, my dad called and offered to help us with a load.  We loaded up his truck and Jayson's truck with most of our big furniture.  On the next trip, Amanda came with Maurie & Aleah and helped us take a load.  The kids had fun playing in the back yard with Titan.  When we first got to the house, Eaen & Maurie ran to each other with open arms and gave each other a great big hug!  They are best of friends!

After they left, it started to rain.  We took a break for a disappointing dinner.  When the rain didn't stop, we borrowed my dad's truck again and moved the last of the furniture in his enclosed bed.  Although we are all pretty tired, Jayson & I put all the furniture together and arranged our rooms.  Tomorrow will be a busy day for both of us, so there won't be any time for moving.  At least we have the majority of it done!

Eaen is getting to be a pro on his bike.

Shower & Starting the move

This morning we went to a bridal shower for Kate.  It was nice, but Eaen was a bit cranky.  He was trying to climb the big tree and all around being difficult.  When we got home, he ended up taking a 3 hour nap.  Knowing our luck, he's probably grown another inch in that 3 hours!

While Eaen was napping, I spoke with our new landlord.  He told us the house was ready and we could start moving anytime.  I immediately started packing up the car while Eaen was still asleep.  When he got up, we started our move!  Eaen & I got 2 full car loads moved in while Jayson was at work.  As I was hauling boxes to the car, Eaen started stacking his tubs.  He would tell me he wanted to "Help" and then bring them out to the stairs like he was going to put them in the car.  He'd say "I'm coming."  When I would tell him to come down and put them in the car, he would say, "No way" and run them back in the apartment.

When Jayson finally got home at 11 pm, I had the car loaded up again.  We quickly loaded Titan and whatever else we could into the truck and headed to the house for a final time.  Even though we didn't have any furniture there, we're going to spend our first night in the new house!  We made beds out of blankets on our bed room floor and all three of us are going to sleep in there together!

Preparing to move

Well, we're down to just a couple of days before we can start moving into our new place!  Eaen & I did some shopping today.  We got garbage cans for all of our new bathrooms and cleaning supplies to start our preparations.  We started making lists of what order we want to move things and what won't be making the move with us, but thrown out or donated.  I even packed a couple of boxes with the pictures off our walls.  Here's a sneak peak of the new place.  I'll take pics of the inside when we get our stuff in it!

Happy 90th Grandma Woodhave!

Today is Grandma Woodhave's 90th birthday!  Some days it is hard to believe she is 90-years-old.  We are so grateful for her in our lives and all she does for us!  The grandkids decided to throw a surprise party for grandma at the park.  We invited her siblings as well as her friends and ladies from the DUP. We had quite a turn out and she was definitely surprised!  Everyone had a great time!

Eaen loves Wednesdays!

It's Wednesday again and that means Play Group!  Eaen is always so excited to go play with the kids and he never wants to leave when it's time to go home for a nap!  Today, I offered to help out a couple of the mom's in the group by watching their boys while they have appointments next week.  Eaen really likes playing with the other kids and he loves it when they come over!

He was peddling away on the bikes today!

Sleeping

I don't know why I take so many pictures of Eaen sleeping.  Maybe it's because he is so peaceful and quiet when he is asleep.  Maybe it's because he falls asleep pretty much anywhere like I used to be able to do before he was here.  Whatever the reason, I have a bunch of pictures of Eaen sleeping.  Here's a small sample of our sleeping boy.

Days of '47 & Cars 2

This morning Eaen & I watched the Days of '47 parade on TV while I did some work.  In the middle of it, Eaen said, "Put it back" and started picking up the family room and putting his toys, books, and puzzles away.  I was quite impressed!

After lunch, I was on the phone and Eaen went into my room and shut the door.  When I got off the phone, I opened the door to find him fast asleep in our bed!

Jayson ended up working late, so we had to go to the late showing of Cars 2.  We've been trying for so long to go, we thought tonight may be the last chance we get.  Eaen was very excited to be there.  He did pretty good, but he finally fell asleep the last 5 minutes.  It was a cute show.  I'm sure we'll watch it hundreds of times when it comes out on dvd!
